TechnicalEdit

Step 1Edit

First of all, make sure nobody else has already written the article. To do so, just add the title of the article (with spaces and everything) to the end of this URL:

http://ale.wikicities.com/index.php/

So, for example, the article on Francis Joseph I is located here:

http://www.politicscanada.net/wiki/index.php/Francis_Joseph_I

If it already exists, it takes you there. If it doesn't, it takes you to a page from where you can build the article.

Step 2Edit

To build the article, just click the "edit" tab at the top of the page, and start writing! You can write as little or as much as you like. When you're done, save the page, and it's updated automatically. There are GUI buttons at the top of the editing menu so you can access things like bold text, images, and the like.

Beautification/Making it PrettyEdit

LinksEdit

Internal LinksEdit

To link internally within AlexWiki, just put the name of the article between a pair of square brackets.

For example, if you put this in:

Francis Joseph I was the first sovereign of a united Alexandria

Then the output text looks like this:

Francis Joseph I was the first sovereign of a united Alexandria

Internal Links with Different TitlesEdit

If you want a link to appear with a different title than it's own, just add a line between the text and the link:

Damien Clouseau is the Premier of the province of Valenciennes

Displays as:

Damien Clouseau is the Premier of the province of Valenciennes

External LinksEdit

To link to a page outside the AlexWiki, just put the url in as text, and it will be turned into a link automatically.

Most pages fit into one of several categories. All of the current categories are viewable here. Choose the most appropiate one (there may be several, then add it to your article in this format:
