Alexandria is a federation of five provinces together with three territories. The major difference between an Alexandrian province and a territory is that a province receives powers directly from the Constitution while a territory is delegated powers by the national government. Thus, the national government has more direct control over the territories, while provincial governments have many more competences and rights. (See also Alexandrian federalism)
