Rubén de Aguirre i Ruiz is an Alexandrian republican since January 8, 2006. Son of Ximun de Aguirre, he has some San Martino roots. He is the founder of the Iniciativa Republicana Izquierda (Republican Movement) and the press group SuFuente.

Ruiz is member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and running for parliament in the province of Valenciennes, where he resides.
